Erica Stefanko, 41, of Rittman, Ohio, was sentenced to life in prison for her role in the 2012 murder of military veteran and pizza delivery driver, Ashley Biggs.
Stefanko placed a bogus pizza delivery call to an empty parking lot where Ashley Biggs was ambushed by the father of her child, Chad Cobb, where he beat and strangled Biggs to death on June 20th, 2012.
Cobb met Erica Lyon on Myspace in 2006 and the duo married in 2010.
Cobb denied anger at Christopher Stefanko for his marriage with Erica, but informed on Erica to authorities in 2017 after Cobb was unable to see his children.
Erica Stefanko was previously married to Chad Cobb, the convicted murdered of Ashley Biggs, but was then married to Christopher Stefanko.
Christopher Stefanko met Erica Stefanko via Chad Cobb in 2008, several years before Cobb was convicted in the 2012 murder of Ashley Biggs.
Chad Cobb was unable to attain custody of his daughter, GC, while Ashley Biggs was given custody of the child.
Chad Cobb stated in the presence of Christopher Stefanko that “when it was all said and done he wanted to keep her skull as a trophy” and that he “needed her gone.” These statements are according to Christopher’s testimony in 2020.
Christopher Stefanko knew Chad Cobb since he was four years old when his family moved next door to him when Cobb was six years old.
Erica Stefanko is not only a child abuser but a promiscuous and disloyal woman as well.
As of 2020, Christopher Stefanko was still married to Erica Stefanko, and testified in her trial.
Christopher Stefanko contracts as a cable installer for Direct TV.
Christopher Stefanko was 36 years old at the time of his testimony in 2020.
Erica Stefanko conspired with her former husband, Chad Cobb, in the slaying of pizza delivery driver, Ashley Biggs.
Stefanko has a chance at a release on parole after 30 years, the same sentence which she received in her first trial in 2021, which she successfully overturned on appeal.
Stefanko was sentenced on January 31st, 2024, however, I, Addy Adds, first began to cover the case in 2021.
Erica Stefanko was involved in a high-profile criminal case connected to the murder of Ashley Biggs, a Domino's Pizza delivery driver, in 2012. The case garnered significant attention due to its brutal nature and the involvement of multiple individuals.
Background:
- Victim: Ashley Biggs, a 25-year-old delivery driver and military veteran.
- Perpetrators: Chad Cobb (Ashley Biggs' ex-boyfriend) and Erica Stefanko (Cobb's then-wife).
- Motive: The murder was driven by a custody dispute between Ashley Biggs and Chad Cobb over their daughter.
Crime Details:
- Plan: Erica Stefanko and Chad Cobb planned the murder together. Stefanko lured Biggs to a secluded location by placing a fake pizza order.
- Execution: Cobb ambushed Biggs, strangled her with a zip tie, and then disposed of her body.
Legal Proceedings:
- Initial Trial: Chad Cobb pleaded guilty to aggravated murder in 2013 and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
- Erica Stefanko's Trial: Years later, evidence and testimony implicated Stefanko. In 2019, she was charged and subsequently tried.
Key Evidence:
- Witness Testimonies: Testimonies from Cobb and others revealed Stefanko's involvement.
- Phone Records: Records showed communication between Stefanko and Cobb during the crime.
Verdict:
- Outcome: In November 2020, Erica Stefanko was found guilty of aggravated murder and other charges.
- Sentence: She was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Impact:
The trial highlighted issues of domestic violence, manipulation, and the tragic consequences of custody disputes.
Erica Stefanko was initially arrested in 2019, some seven years after Ashley Biggs was murdered by Stefanko’s ex-husband, Chad Cobb, who is also the father of the child of Ashley Biggs. Cobb was sentenced to life in prison without the chance for parole. It is quite astounding to think that Stefanko walked free for seven years before she was apprehended by law enforcement.
