Nick Sortor’s Legal Troubles: Misdemeanor Conviction and Probation
LEXINGTON, KY – Nick Sortor, a 24-year-old journalist, currently serving probation for a misdemeanor conviction, continues to face scrutiny for his legal history. Public records from Fayette County reveal that Sortor was convicted of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, following an incident on November 20, 2020.
Sortor's conviction stems from property damage, a violation classified under Kentucky Revised Statute (KRS) 512.040. On October 8, 2021, he was sentenced to 90 days in jail, although his sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation starting January 10, 2022. His probation is set to end on January 7, 2024.
With a “Low Risk Assessment Rating” and no prior serious offenses, Sortor has remained under supervision in Lexington’s District 09. While there is no official photograph available, records indicate that Sortor is a white male, standing 5'10" tall, weighing 170 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.
Despite his public profile, Sortor's criminal record serves as a reminder of the challenges facing those with prior convictions, particularly when additional offenses occur while under probation. His status remains under observation by local authorities as he approaches the end of his probation period.
